Klopp makes 3 changes, £4.5m-rated youngster given a chance: LFC predicted XI vs Ajax – opinion

Liverpool will prepare to field their first squad this season without Virgil van Dijk as part of the defensive set up. The recent news of his ACL injury has rocked the club and Jurgen Klopp must find a way to continue their form from last season, without one of his most influential players.

Should Fabinho play at centre-back for the rest of the season for Liverpool?

Their last two fixtures were disappointing ones and will have the Reds eager to bouncer back to winning ways. A 7-2 demolition at the hands of Aston Villa followed by a draw against Everton will also have fans concerned over their progress this campaign.

Football FanCast has predicted how Liverpool might set up to vie for a win against the Eredivisie champions including three changes from the Everton line-up.

With both van Dijk and Joel Matip ruled out of the fixture at the Johan Cruyff Arena, Klopp will need to rely on Joe Gomez to command the backline. It’s likely that Fabinho will be paired up with him at the heart of the defence after his impressive performance there against Chelsea.

This means the No.6 position will open up for Jordan Henderson to slot into, in order to help protect his side’s vulnerable back five.

Naby Keita is also injured, similar to Thiago who picked up a slight knock against Everton during Richarlison’s red card situation. With two majorly creative midfielders out of action, Liverpool will need to lean on the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum and Curtis Jones to help out the front three. The young Merseyside local, valued at £4.5m, will relish the opportunity to showcase his attacking flair against a strong Ajax side, and he could be the difference between a win and a draw.

The attacking trio will undoubtedly remain untouched. Klopp will be searching for a big result to life morale around the Liverpool camp and set them up for a home match against Sheffield United on Saturday.
